Brilliant Harvest founder and president Bill Johnson moved to Sarasota in 1975 and has lived in Sarasota most of his life. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics from Emory University, his Master of Science in Physics from the University of South Florida Tampa, and his Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship / Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Florida.
He is known for his passion for renewable energy, his work ethic and meticulous attention to every detail. Bill has earned his certification as a solar PV installer from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) – this certification is the highest professional certification that can be earned in the solar energy business and puts him into an elite group. Bill serves on the boards of the Myakka River Branch of the U.S. Green Building Council and of the Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy (2009-present), and has participated in numerous educational programs about renewable energy throughout the region.
Bill is a graduate of the Leadership Sarasota County program (2005). He is active throughout the community – he has served as the chairman of the board for The Florida Center for Early Childhood (2005-2012) and served on the board of the Crowley Museum and Nature Center (2006-2010). He is also the current President of the Pine View Foundation.
Caring for the environment is a family affair: Bill’s wife, Christine, is the president of the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast. The couple has two children.
