We’re proud to work with Sarasota County on sustainability
Since 2009, Brilliant Harvest has worked on a wide variety of residential solar energy projects as well as those for businesses and civic, religious, and nonprofit organizations. We wanted to share a couple of projects we’re working on now: adding solar energy to power two brand new facilities being built by Sarasota County:
Sarasota County Planning and Development Services One-Stop Center

300.375kW rooftop array
675 solar panels
435,000 kWh per-year estimated annual solar array energy production
The groundbreaking for this new facility was held in May. According to news stories, like this one on ABC 7, “Officials said the 55,600 square feet of general office is situated on 6.5 acres of land next door to the new Sarasota County Fire Station No. 8, and adjacent to the Celery Fields. With a construction contract cost of $26,692,188, the work is slated to be completed by Fall 2025 … The facility will also serve as the operations center for damage assessment teams during recovery phases after such events as a hurricane or tropical storm.”

The county broke ground on the new $12.8 million facility in January; it is scheduled to open in 2025. According to news stories, like this one in The Observer, “The new facility will include a live bog for filtering water, increased pesticide storage capacities and greater room for aquaculture as well as laboratories, among other components.”
Halfacre Construction Company is the General Contractor for both projects.
