Brilliant Harvest extends solar charitable incentive

In November, Brilliant Harvest announced a charitable incentive to go solar: we pledged to donate $1,000 to the Sarasota Audubon Society (SAS) for every Audubon Society member who purchased a 10kW solar electric system on their home or business. The original deadline was January 9, the grand opening date of the new Nature Center at the Celery Fields.
We closed contracts on three solar projects by January 9, resulting in a total of $2,200 in donations in the names of Brilliant Harvest clients and SAS members Diane Cirksena and Darryl Saffer, Steve Christoffers and Linda Classen, and John and Susan Curtis to the SAS.
At the grand opening on January 9, an anonymous donor to the Audubon Society came forward with a 2:1 match for all donations made through the end of February. Our $2,200 contribution became $6,600 … and we decided to extend the incentive through February 29!
We believe that this is a natural partnership – renewables and conservation. Moving to renewable energy and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels will benefit the many species dependent on natural landscapes and a stable climate. The new Nature Center is a marvelous facility, one that beautifully showcases our diverse bird populations. We are happy to provide this financial support while also raising awareness of the SAS’s work.
