How will you attach the solar array to the roof of my house?

This is a very common question when people talk to us about solar energy. No matter what type of roof you have, Brilliant Harvest exceed Florida’s tough wind load standards. There is almost no greater challenge to building in Florida than addressing the threat or actual instances of dangerously high winds; making sure the solar panels mounted to your home are secure is our first priority.
We wanted to share with you some of the most common roof types and the materials we use to secure your solar array to your roof.
Asphalt Shingles – According to floridabuilding.org, this is the most popular residential roofing material in the state of Florida. For this application we use a combination “L” foot with flashing (see left). Call us or follow the link for specific product details.
5V Metal Roof – The second most popular roofing material in Florida It’s great looking with many advantages. 5V
metal roofs have exposed fasteners. The EJOT solar fastener features a highly engineered stainless steel thread form that minimizes radial forces. The EJOT JA3’s specialized thread design gives maximum fastening performance.
Standing Seam Metal Roof – A durable product choice and beautiful. Standing seam roofs make installing solar energy systems very easy and have no visible fasteners. The S-5 clamp allows mounting to your roof without penetrations. S-5 may say it best “A standing seam metal roof has the life expectancy consistent with that of framed PV modules.”
Tile Roofs – Beautiful and becoming a more popular roofing material in Florida. The real innovation in the EcoFasten “Tile Flashing System” allows for the strongest and highest quality tile mounting system for solar energy.
